Caring for Your Vallee Pieces

Concrete is a natural material. It responds to its environment — light, water, use. With basic care it will last indefinitely and improve with age.

Spills

Wipe up promptly. Wine, coffee, oils and soap — none will cause permanent damage if dealt with quickly. Don’t leave liquids to pool.

Everyday cleaning

Warm damp cloth, soft microfibre. Mild soapy water is fine. No harsh chemicals, no abrasive sponges, no vigorous scrubbing.

Outdoors

Vallee concrete is suitable for outdoor use. Avoid leaving vessels or pots on the surface during heavy rain — pooled water can leave temporary marks that fade within a few weeks.

Heavy items and sunlight

Use felt pads or mats under heavy objects. Avoid dragging across the surface. Rotate pieces exposed to direct sunlight periodically.

Chips and edges

Concrete edges can chip on hard impact. Minor chips and scratches can be repaired — contact us if this happens.

The sealer

A deep-penetrating hardening sealer, applied by hand. It fills the pores of the concrete and leaves a low sheen finish. Tactile, not gloss. Maintain with soapy water and a soft cloth.
