Specifier | FAQ

Specification & Design

Can dimensions be modified?

Yes, but custom dimensions may require a new mould to be made. This adds to the cost and extends lead times by approximately 8 weeks. Contact us with your dimensions before ordering to discuss what’s possible for your project.

What drain configurations are available?

Drain placement varies by piece and can be specified at the time of order — centre, offset, or end drain depending on the form. Changes to the standard drain position may require a new mould, adding to cost and lead time. We’ll confirm what’s possible for your chosen piece.

Do you provide specification sheets or CAD files?

We can provide specification documentation for trade projects on request. Contact us through Studio Access.

Can you accommodate multiple pieces for a single project?

Yes. For projects requiring multiple pieces, contact us directly to discuss production scheduling and lead times.

Finishes & Material

What finishes are available?

Each piece is available in a range of concrete colours — from Charcoal and Bone through to Fern, Tuscan, Eclipse, and more. Finish samples are available on request through Studio Access.

How do Vallee finishes perform in wet areas?

All pieces are sealed for wet area use. Concrete is a living material — it will develop a patina over time, which is part of its character. We recommend periodic resealing to maintain the finish.

Are two pieces ever identical?

No. Subtle tonal variation, fine pinholes, and surface character are inherent to handcast concrete. Each piece is unique.

Production & Lead Times

How long does production take?

Lead times vary by piece and current production schedule. Current lead times are confirmed at the time of order. As a guide, most pieces are 6–12 weeks from order to dispatch.

Can I visit the studio?

Yes — studio visits are available by appointment in Ballarat, Victoria. Apply through Studio Access.

Delivery

How is freight handled?

Freight is at the purchaser’s expense and is quoted individually based on delivery location and piece dimensions. All pieces are delivered to site. The purchaser is responsible for handling and installation from the point of delivery.

What is your quality control process?

Every piece is crack-tested at our studio prior to dispatch and signed off in good condition before leaving our care. Condition is confirmed by the purchaser at delivery.

Care

How do I care for my Vallee piece?

Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. Reseal periodically with a penetrating concrete sealer — we recommend every 12–24 months depending on use.

What if my piece is damaged on arrival?

Any damage must be noted on the delivery docket at the time of delivery. Contact us immediately with photos and we’ll work to resolve it.
